After graduating from Osaka University with a BA in Literature, Mariko worked for a one of the biggest leasing companies in Japan.
- In 2007, she received a scholarship from the Berklee College of Music in Boston.
- In 2009, she graduated at the top of the list in Professional Music Major from Berklee College of Music.
- In 2010, Mariko won a prize “Fujitsu-Ten Award” at the 11th Kobe Jazz Vocal Queen Contest and the grand prize at the 5th Saitama Shin Toshin Jazz Vocal Contest.
- In 2012, she released her debut CD “Marguerite” and second CD “My Lovely Way”.
- In 2017, she released her third CD “That’s My Way”. Mariko also became a teacher at Nagoya University of Arts. (She retired from it in 2022.)
Currently she performs and teaches in her hometown of Nagoya.
